The lymphatic system is the body’s detox system and sewer system for fluids.

​It plays an important role in the circulatory and immune systems. Most people have never heard of its useful function, until there is a malfunction. The lymphatic system is made up of tubes called collectors, which are in charge of carrying fluid, and lymph nodes which are small organs grouped in clusters that filter fluid. Bone marrow, the spleen, and intestinal lymph tissue are also part of the lymphatic system working together to make up the immune system.

The Lymphatic System's primary job is to carry away cellular waste produced as part of normal metabolism. Cells use the nutrients from the blood to rid the body of bacteria, viruses, and other microbes that are killed by the immune cells. It also works to transport long-chain fats we eat (the unhealthy kind) into the bloodstream as they are absorbed from the intestines. Ultimately, lymphatic fluid becomes urine.
